THE CHURCH
The Church dates back to 1864 and is an excellent venue for concerts, conferences or choir practice. A large platform to the front, complete with lectern, is ideal to use as a stage or for presentations. It benefits from a wide screen TV with HDMI wireless access and sits above the platform. A PA system with sound deck is located to the rear of the Church. Unfortunately, our pipe organ is no longer in use, but an upright piano is available. A loop system for the hard of hearing is installed.
The ground floor is carpeted and seats 90 people – the chairs can be moved to your preferred layout. There is access at the front of the Church to a small, basic kitchenette for tea/coffee/refreshment preparation if required. The Vestry is currently not available. There is level access into the body of the Church, but steps lead to the rooms at the front.
The Church also has a gallery with the original tiered pews (seating approx. 120). It can be accessed by either the original stone staircase on one side or a more modern staircase to the other.
The Hall
The Hall is located in the modern annex to the side of the Church and was built in 2004. A light, airy space with high ceilings, wooden floor and level access throughout. The Hall seats 70 theatre style and approx. 20 boardroom style. It is suitable for children’s parties, youth organisations, club events and social gatherings. Folding tables and chairs are available, along with an electronic keyboard and wi-fi access.
There is a fully contained fenced garden which can be accessed through double doors leading out from the Hall and has ample room to locate a bouncy castle for children’s parties should you wish.
Hire charges include use of the kitchen and cloakrooms (with disabled access & baby changing facilities available).
The Lounge
The Lounge is fully carpeted, seats 14 with comfortable armchairs and is an excellent venue for committee meetings, small social or discussion groups. It is located in the annex and also benefits from level access and use of the kitchen/cloakroom facilities.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen is adjacent to the Hall with a large serving hatch between. It is fully equipped with a large double oven, microwave, crockery and utensils.
Use of the kitchen is included in the Hall/Lounge/Church hire charges.
Car Parking
Our premises benefit from the use of private car parking facilities to the front and rear of the church.
